Saltwater Reflections on Prayer

Dear Mary,

I woke up this morning thinking more about our conversation on prayer and what you said about prayer and trusting God.

As I thought about it, I kept coming back to how deeply you trust our Father. That’s one of the most beautiful things about you.

So I prayed, opened Scripture & the Lord brought me straight to this:

“I urge that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be made for all people.”

1 Timothy 2:1

And then it all clicked…

God commands intercession not because He needs it, but because we do.

It softens our hearts.

It shapes us to love what He loves. 💗

We’re stepping into what He loves.

And prayer doesn’t just change us it helps the person we’re praying for, because God has chosen to work through His people’s prayers. When we pray for someone, we’re stepping into the same intercession Jesus Himself is already doing for them. Our prayer becomes agreement with Jesus’ prayer and alignment with God’s will.

Scripture shows this over and over:

Israel wins battles because Moses intercedes

Rain stops because Elijah prays

Churches grow because Paul intercedes

Healing comes because believers pray

When we pray, our voice becomes an echo of His.

When we step into the stream, we’re not powering the river – we’re letting the river carry us. And through us, it carries blessing to someone else.

That’s how God designed His kingdom.

It’s about joining His heart.

And trust fuels prayer.

Love and prayers,
Britt
