Leading a Bible Study

House of Discipleship believes that healthy leadership grows out of discipleship. Our leaders begin as participants, grow alongside others in Scripture, and step into leadership through relationship, service, and prayerful discernment.

The Path to Leading

You do not need to have everything figured out before God can use you. Leadership develops over time as we study His Word, grow in community, and learn to serve others faithfully.

1. Join

Begin by participating in a House of Discipleship Bible study. This gives you an opportunity to experience the way our studies are facilitated, become part of the community, and grow alongside others in God’s Word.

2. Grow

Leadership begins with being a disciple first. As you participate in a study, continue growing in your understanding of Scripture, your relationship with Christ, and your ability to listen, encourage, and learn alongside others.

3. Serve

As relationships develop within House of Discipleship, there may be opportunities to begin serving in simple ways. This allows gifts, character, and a heart for discipleship to develop naturally within the community.

4. Lead

When someone demonstrates a desire and readiness to help disciple others, leadership opportunities can develop through conversation, prayer, and mutual discernment with House of Discipleship leadership.

Leaders will receive guidance and support as they prepare to facilitate a study and care for the people God has entrusted to them.
